These terms govern your use of DefinedSelf, a free tool operated by Auto Alpha Advisory (“we”, “us”). By using the site, you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use it.
1. Who we are
DefinedSelf is operated by Auto Alpha Advisory. You can reach us at hello@autoalphaadvisory.co.za.
2. What DefinedSelf is — and isn’t
DefinedSelf draws a Human Design chart from the date, time and place of birth you enter. It is offered free of charge as a self-reflection guide — a structured way to look at yourself and decide for yourself what rings true.
It is not a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical, psychological, financial, or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Human Design is an interpretive framework, not a science. Nothing on the site should be relied on to make important decisions about your health, wellbeing, relationships, or finances.
3. Accuracy of your chart
The chart is calculated from real astronomy — the actual positions of the Sun, Moon and planets at your birth moment, resolved in your birth location’s own timezone (including historical daylight-saving shifts). Its accuracy therefore depends on the birth details you provide. An unknown or approximate birth time in particular can change time-sensitive parts of the chart, as the tool itself notes. We make no warranty that any chart or interpretation is accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the site unlawfully, or in a way that harms it or other users;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or reverse-engineer the service or its infrastructure;
- scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract the site or its output by automated means; or
- present the tool or its results as your own, or imply our endorsement, without our written permission.
5. Intellectual property
The site — its design, text, chart engine, and imagery — belongs to Auto Alpha Advisory and is protected by law. The birth details you enter, and the chart drawn from them, are yours to keep and share. You may share your own chart link freely for personal, non-commercial use.
6. No warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Auto Alpha Advisory will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any decision you make in reliance on a chart or interpretation. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 where it applies.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information under POPIA — in short, your birth details live in your chart’s link and are not stored in any database.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and you agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. The Consumer Protection Act, 2008 and POPIA apply to the extent required by law.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
